KEAUHOU TOPS AT KA HIMENI ANA: Marlene Sai and Richard Towill congratulated Keauhou - Aina Asing, Kahanuola Solatorio, Zachary Lum and Kaipo Tilton - on taking top honors in the 2008 Ka Himeni Ana singing competition Saturday at Hawaii Theatre. The young quartet's renditions of "Lei Pua Kenikeni" and "La 'Elima," sung without microphones, won them an album deal with Hula Records. Stephen Inglis and Kalae Mills took second place; Na Leo o Na Keiki Kanikapila o Hula Hui o Kapunahala placed third. -------- Is anyone aware of any recordings by Keauhou? If they beat Kalae Miles and Stephen Inglis, my goodness, they must have the voices. This music contest is all "unplugged".

| yes, they do get a bona fide CD. Although I was not a member at the time, Keauwena (the group I'm associated with now) placed 4th in the contest. Hoping to polish up our act and try again, maybe next year! |

For those who didn't know this, Zach directed the Kamehameha sophomores in "Ka Nohona Pili Kai" this past year. I can't get over what a beautiful arrangement that is. |
