I wanted to try and spread the word about this upcoming concert in Watsonville, California. On Sept 20th.

Another absolutely great interview, Norm. George is an all 'round swell guy! But in addition to raising the kalo, the bok choy, the avocados, etc., etc., etc. -- all the stuff he has raised over the years, the best thing he raised is Keoki. As dedicated a farmer as is George, Keoki is even more so. We talked on the phone for quite some time a while back about genetically modified organisms, about responsible farming, about fishing, about hunting, and about music. George, you have done the best a parent can do -- and you have done it to the ultimate. You have raised a wonderful, talented, knowledgeable, caring young man who now will pass that on to his keiki. That's what it is all about, Brah. That's what it is all about.
Oh, and the music ain't bad, neither.
Mahalo so much Norm for the interview and for allowing us to listen in.

Just listened to the interview. Yep- it is fun to listen to George's stories, if you can get him to sit still long enough to tell them!
So like, he finishes the interview while trotting out to the car and getting in to go off on another errand!

LOL. When I called him earlier in the day to confirm the interview time, he was in the middle of teaching his class, and he put me on hold for a little while so he could finish taking roll. I wish I had half his energy, and on only 2 to 3 hours of sleep at night. Amazing!!
Wanda, I did do an interview with Keoki the next night. Unfortunately I forgot to hit the button on the recorder (what a Dummy), so I couldn't get it posted. I has talking to Keoki while he was sitting on top of his truck while he was out trapping wild pigs!! What a family!! |
