FYI, Na Kama has a new Christmas album coming out this month - "E Ola Ke Ali'i" (The Na Kama Christmas Collection - Volume I) - release date is currently scheduled for Nov. 18.
Lucky us - Eric, Danny and Brian have decided to hold their CD release party at Pakele Live! on Dec. 11... There will be special guests, but we can't release the names until everything is confirmed. I don't yet know if the time slot will be expanded the way it was for Nat's CD release/bday party last week, so for now it's the same 6-8 pm time...
I'll provide more info as soon as I have it - just wanted to give you all a heads' up!
Aloha nui...

This is a Pakele Live where I've got to figure a way to stay awake. When we go O`ahu we stay at the Resort Quest Waikiki Beach. Eric plays music there on many mornings during breakfast. He does plenty good traditional Hawaiiam music and is so kind about playing our requests. And he did not even laugh at me when I was learning hula for `Ulupalakua at their free hula lessons.
Remember that you guys going Waikiki -- free music every morning at breakfast time right in front of Tiki's by the pool, outside under the beautiful sun and breezes. |

Eric would never laugh at you Wanda! Ok, well at least not until he got to know you better... ha ha! (he's a sweetie!)
He's one of the hardest working musicians around - the only one of the 3 who does it full time (Danny and Brian both have day jobs, like most musicians here...). He does the gigs you're talking about on weekend mornings, I think? Performing at 7:30 am after finishing up late from a gig the night before! Auwe! He also does a solo gig at the Hilton on Saturday afternoons - sometimes Billy V sits in with him on that one. I think he pretty much plays 7 days a week...
At this point, it doesn't look like their CD release party will start earlier than the regular 6 pm time slot (e kala mai!), but it may very well go later than 8 pm... but sleeping is overrated sometimes, yeh? You gotta try to at least hear them do the title cut from the new album ("E Ola Ke Ali'i" - Eric wrote it) - it's my favorite, and hearing the guys do it live (last week) gave me chicken skin for days...
Much aloha, |
