We have a very special Pakele Live! for you this week… three time Grammy Award winning producer/composer/singer/musician Daniel Ho! Joining Daniel will be Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner and Kumu Hula Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, Kumu’s daughter Ula Hewett, and Barry Kimokeo, the extraordinarily talented young musician/singer who many of you might recognize from his appearances on tour with the Makaha Sons or on Monday nights at Chai’s Island Bistro, where he performs with the legendary Jerry Santos and 2008’s multiple Na Hoku award winner Hoku Zuttermeister.

The prolific Ho has been especially busy this year, releasing a number of new albums on his Daniel Ho Creations label. To name just a few, a new solo album of his own (Sunny Spaces), a second album with Tia Carrere (ikena), the 3rd in a series of duet albums with ‘ukulele master Herb Ohta, Jr. (2 to 3 Feet - 'Ukuleles in Paradise 3), the 4th in the Grammy-winning slack key series featuring numerous slack key masters and recorded live on Maui (The Spirit of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar), AND Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett’s latest album (Honehone i ka Poli), with all original songs written by Kawaikapu and Daniel playing all instruments and producing. (Kumu also introduces the vocal talents of his daughter Ula on this album.)

Please join us for this special evening! It’s FREE, Thursday Nov. 20, 6-8 p.m. HST in the Pakele Lounge at the Ala Moana Hotel (410 Atkinson Dr., Honolulu). You can also watch live online at http://www.pakelelive.com/. Those in Japan can tune in at http://www.j-wave.co.jp/
