You Tube,. Week of February 1, 2009

Frank DeLima – A little fun at the expense of just about everyone.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G_Eun-p-WM – Don’t Sneeze When You Eat Saimin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0m_Kw1DAYE – Filipino Christmas
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn4rZe1lbgA – Spam Musubi

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHJdvl2Txtg - Just some fun. Already getting Obama impersonators.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUv2u9ftqFI – Kermet Apio

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1rNJtMmqJ0 – E Lili`u E by Zack (slackkey808) and look at the swell toy he has. Another fine job by someone who you can tell loves this music. And here Zack is playing Ku`u Kika Kahiko http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOSdMY2hIcQ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mIVOV9wcZM - `Ukulele workshop at the Southern California Slack Key Festival – Cyril Pahinui, guitar and Kunia Galdeira, `ukulele. And what a leo ki`eki`e he has. Wow. Great, except for when I get huli stomach from watching the shaky video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s99N03xmc9Y – Molehu played by MKurki from Finland, of all places.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcgtbhyfXqI – Timi Abrigo – Slack Key Lullaby ala Minnie Pearl down home style with the price tag still hanging on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAYKuB5MUMY – here is Timi with Mike Keale.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqIQSIy9fCU – Iz – Ahi Wela/Twinkle Little Star—I think this is so beautiful, but once I learned what the lyrics of Ahi Wela meant, I have oft wondered about putting the two of them together. I wonder what was in Iz’s head about that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FqZjfYYPyc – Jesse Tinsley playing a lovely rendition of Lahela Ku'u Poki'i And here is Ua Like no a like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtMiioprhcA Does Jesse’s repertoire amaze you? It amazes me! And here is a bit of rascally music: Kuwili - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWUZ_dcrTcU

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6OLz9GF68Y Maunaloa by Moke Young from Lahn-Gailand NY. Here is Pua Ahihi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsAy-jl6bwE I don’t know who Moke Young is but wowie, plenty talent.

Doggone it, I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached. Here is another one I meant to put on the list. This is about 28 minutes long, telling about kahili; how they are made; how they get their mana; why it is important to Hawaiian culture to keep this traditional alive and why it is important to take up the task, the kulean and develop the skill to make your own kahili.

Gives me chicken skin: Uncle Helemano teaches us.

Oooh, oooh! Here's another one. This features Konabob Stauffer on steel guitar, Keith Marzullo and Alan Hale (no not the Skipper on Gilligan's Island) on `ukulele from Keauahou, Moku o Keawe, playing Haole Hulla.

Great job, guys! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4Z0rTFy7Ms

Here are a couple of more from Paul. We decided to cheer ourselves up after a visit to Paul's mom in the rehab facility. Paul is a collector of goofy songs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nktwTm7E76M – The Cockroach that ate Cincinnati -- This serves to answer Dukes question - Hoof Hearted. Eh, Duke, we no was not you - was da kakaroach, da buggah.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nktwTm7E76M&feature=channel_page – 5 Pounds of Possum - This song is for all you folks who are reeling from the economy downturn. This is a way to keep your family fed. Note: I NEVER ate possum. My folks NEVER ate possum -- too much like a RAT.
