Aloha kakou!
Below is an updated schedule for Pakele Live!, but I also wanted to let those who watch online know that we'll be moving to a higher video resolution in the upcoming weeks that's double what we're presently streaming online.

This means better video quality (to match that of the audio), but viewers should check with their internet providers to ensure they're on a high speed connection of at least 1 MB or higher.

Here's the schedule:

March 12 - Jennifer Perri CD Release Party, with special guests Herb Ohta, Jr., Jon Yamasato, David Kamakahi & Darin Leong

March 19 - LT Smooth & Donald Kaulia, with Chris Lau & Walt Keale

March 26 - Tunana Da Band

April 2 - Brother Noland

April 9 - Greg Hammer Band

FRIDAY April 10 - PALI CD release party, with Kalapana, Ledward Kaapana, Jon Yamasato(& possibly David Kamakahi and/or Darin Leong), Weldon Kekauoha, Bryan Tolentino, Alika Boy IV, and more!

April 16 - Special Pakele Live! for Janell Araki Kokua, artists TBA

April 23 - Aunty May Kamai

April 30 - David Kamakahi CD Release Party, with special guests

May 7, 2009 - Leilani Rivera Bond

Unless otherwise noted, Pakele Live! is every Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. HST in the Pakele Lounge (off the lobby of the Ala Moana Hotel), in Honolulu. Admission is always FREE, and all ages are welcome! Seating is on a first-come basis.

Those who can't be there in person can watch online at http://www.pakelelive.com/ Those in Japan can watch at http://www.j-wave.co.jp/

A hui hou!

April 16, 2009: Special Pakele Live! for Janell Araki (from Precision Sound; all-star guess lineup.. same folks that do the Plantation Cafe sound for your show. Unfortunately, Darren's wife, Janell, has an incurable condition and isn't expected to live long, she's only 38 years old. We're confirming artists for this night, and plan to use Pakele to get out awareness for her condition and for donations to her fund as they've surpassed insurance coverage).
April 23, 2009 Aunty May Kamai
April 30, 2009 David Kamakahi CD release Party
May 7, 2009 Leilani Rivera Bond

Aloha Bill,
I don't think Tony is a member of TP, but I'll cut/paste your note into an email for him and Pali. (I know Pali is a TP member.) They both handle the booking for Pakele... We're always looking for talent/suggestions, but the person/group needs to play traditional Hawaiian music (or contemporary Hawaiian), and they should have a CD out - so if it's someone not known to Tony or Pali, it would be helpful if they were provided with a CD well in advance...

A hui hou!
Lynn
