Thanks for posting that!

Here's an invite to all the Seattle crew to come and share at the Slack Key Workshop.

Other that that, I suspect that Kory & I plan to hold down our usual all day spot inside the green room (near the beer) at any time neither of us are on stage. All are welcome to jam...

Oh, and for something completely different, come hear Charanga, the Galician brass & bagpipe band I play in, on Sunday at 3:00. Loud is good.

I might have to stick around to hear Brother Noland at the Leadbelly Tribute! That sounds like fun.

"Good night Irene, Good night Irene, I'll get you in my dreams..." as it was originally sung. Puts a whole new perspective on the song, doesn't it?

Had all kinds of ethnic food but shave ice was not on the list of available treats. great time was had by all. Did you notice we all got hairy faces. Is that a trend? The crowd received us very well and it was real fun to play that day. We even managed to get in tune before we went on.
Baritone Thumbstruck and slipry1 were mistaken for tables from an Italian restaurant.

No'eau, eia au he mea pa'ani wale nō.

The hairy face thing is cool in my book. I've been living with one for 36 years. (Not my own, Ed!!!! I shave my own).

Eh, Noeau, being mistaken for a tablecloth can have its benefits---extra garlic bread and salad dressing for instance. Had a great time. The weather cooperated. Thanks to all who filled out the necessary paperwork for that!

Yep, Seattle Folklife---party time with 200,000 of your closest friends...

Big mahalos to Retro & Momi for hosting the Sunday nite party... have your ears recovered from the bagpipes yet? (Bagpipes and Hawaiian music, you say? Well, you had to be there...)

I had a blast jamming with Da Oddah Guyz ... or is it Da Udder Guise?

Herb gets MVP for helping me swim through the crowd with my Pahd Thai & Al gets MVP, too, for his great singing at our workshop.

Special big thanks to Kory for his great attitude & to Jack for being the (almost) perfect sideman. I do love playing with you guys!

Great vids, Lee! Looking forward to seeing some more.

Glad I made it back home in one piece.

Tidbits about Da Oddah Guyz - the lineup varies, based on whoever is available for the gig, but it's generally Kory & Jack, plus. We had a different uke player who rehearsed with K+J last week...but his golf game delayed him and he didn't make it; however, Herb was jamming with us earlier (and we all know him), so he was IN this time.

This incarnation? Five guys with beards - and hats - and TaroPatch handles. Coincidence?

Someone told me they mis-read the listing as "Da OLDAH Guyz." I'm okay with that, because it makes me the baby of the group. (As a player, too, not just speaking chronologically.)

Mark: I'm also glad you made it home in one piece --- but I thought you arrived here in three. And as for a "party" - what party?

Lee: your videos rock, thank you again (for last year AND this year).

Thanks for the vids. Way cool man. Mark is the ultimate sideman. Errybody else just rocks even if it is Hawaiian. Folklife is an all encompassing experience from 4 year old violinists to old guys like Jack. Man it is worth the work for one all access badge so can get 3 dollah beer. I no drink and the soda is free, how about that? You come with finger nails ready for picking the strings and then you run um down to da skin. Owee!

No'eau, eia au he mea pa'ani wale nō.

Mahalo nui loa to all of you who took pictures/shot videos! Awesome! Folkife is such a blast! You can tell from the pictures that I love playing with "deeze guyze". Everyone in the band (and Mark, too) listens. Eh, Noeau - I no "old guy", just in years.
