MAHALO NUI LOA Deva Yamashiro and the gang in Vancouver, WA!!!
Thanks for inviting us (Halau Hula `O Lono, me [Falsetto2002 aka Gary Medeiros] and pushpull...Kory) to your Annual May Day Arts & Crafts Festival at Jefferson Middle School, Vancouver, WA.
I hope this message is a consolidate expression from us to you (Vancouver and Portland Gang). We had so much fun sharing our god given talents with all of you.
Special thanks to Deva's son for stepping up to pull bass for us. It was difficult at times, but you hung in there. You did so well that Aunty Manu along with me and Kory; were happy. You pulled bass like a champ; while not knowing all the mele we do. Super talent! The best part of it all? He said, "I gotta get back into my hawaiian music." Daz home base for us and the trunk of the tree. You are all a very talented group of entertainers. Especially those cute keiki's who did various hula's.
To da aunty (da luna) in da kitchen; it was a cartoon by the way she wen hana 'ino. What a crack-up and all in good-fun. I remember she saying; "I came running out when I heard "Alika" like Aunty Genoa sings; wen I look up, it was you (kolohe face and smile)...we all cracked up...good kin fun times.
Forget the shaved-ice...ok I wen have Kory buy me one...those Malasadas...winnah!!!
I hope we have a return invite to next years event. I look forward to the food, the music, and ALL THE ALOHA!!!
A hui hou and Malama Pono
PS Dey get Ho'ike each month and I would enjoy just joining them to kanikapila.

Wish I coulda been there! Eh, Gary, I bear greetings from Uncle Braddah (Lionel) and Puanani (I think that's right) your music teacher who played with us at Live Aloha and at Kennedy High School last year. She's taking up steel. There's a move here on Oahu to get teachers to play steel and teach their students. Good luck to them! |

Yeah, she's fantastic! Wasn't she thinking of moving up this way someday? |

She gave me a positive definite "maybe". |

When my folks told us a positive, definite "maybe" it was enough to cause rapturous excitations, at least for a while. Ah, the joys of contemplating the "what ifs" and "maybes". Dare we suggest even a "perhaps"? |
