It's been way too long since Makaha Sons and Olomana have released anything new. Has anyone heard anything as to when they might release something? Also, what about Ho'okena or Haunani Apoliona - or is she too busy with OHA to record? I have her one album and wish she'd record more. Seems like when I look at the reviews in the Advertiser, so many of them are Jawaiian and I like traditional Hawaiian. I listen to the clips and wouldn't buy any of that stuff.
I used to sing in Aaron Mahi's Ecumenical Chorale. Anyone know if that group is still going and what Aaron is up to these days.
Don't know if the Sons are planning another recording, but Olomana isn't even playing together anymore. Wahhhhhh! This is due to a combination of Haunani's time being taken by OHA duties, and that danged Hilton moving Jerry outta the wonderful Paradise Lounge, and into the hallway-like Tapa Bar. Only room there for 2 musicians, so it's just Jerry and a guitarist now (no more Willy on percussion) -- and only on Friday nights. Argh!
Ho`okena will be releasing an all-new CD this summer (so sez Manu Boyd).
Aaron plays every Sunday with Martin Pahinui and George Kuo (with occasional guest steel, by Bobby Ingano) at the Waikiki Marriott. Weekdays you'll find him at Kamehameha Schools as the choral director.

I was wondering where he landed since his demise from Royal Hawaiian Band. Saw Nola a little over a year ago at the Jamestown 400th Anniversary program where both our choirs performed.
When I was last on O'ahu, Olomana was still at Paradise Lounge. Was a nice room.
It's hard to keep track anymore. Most of the stuff coming out is Jawaiian and I prefer traditional music. Do you know anything about Kawaikapu recording anything new?
