Aloha to everyone at the board,

Just wanted to send a virtual post card to you from Hawai`i. I got in to Honolulu last night. Kind of busy running around but finding some time for some music too.

I hear there is a great party April 17th? To those who do not know, I'm getting married that day.

A big aloha to you,
Andy

See you there Braddah,

We are 80% packed and we shipped our wetsuits out. How was the flight? You went CO out of EWR, right? Anything we should know about, like gate checking guitars, security times, etc.?

A hui hou (for real :-),

Reid

I was there 2 hours before depature and curb side checked my 3 bags. No problems with security.

Carried my guitar to the gate. Continental is flying new 767s which are very nice but the downside is very small overhead compartments - no way a guitar can fit. Cool individual TVs though. So you're going to have to gate check it... I lucked out on the way here b/c the flight was not that crowded so the attendant put it in the 1st class closet.

A hui hou (for real),
Andy

Andy! Wow! That was fast!

How long was your trip? I'm glad both you and your Bride to be had a pleasant and safe trip. Wow! Marriage in Hawaii! What's the weather like on Oahu! It's been hot here on Maui! And it doesn't help when I'm sick, and yet still go to work. But enough about that.

How are the two of you enjoying the change of scenery thus far! Have you tried contacting Kihoalu? You two enjoy yourselves! Get a Hawaiian Tan! Yikes! so many things to do huh?

I want to now take this moment and, wish you and yours a Happy Lifetime Together. Always be together...live and grow old together. Be forever good to oneanother. Have a Wonderful Marriage in the Hawaiian Islands. See ya! When I see yah....no forget about that....the two of you have a great time here in the Islands. A Hui Hou!

Aloha,

Thanks for the well wishes. The weather is very clear and humid on O`ahu. Hopefully it will cool off a bit by the middle of next week.

Amid running many wedding-related errands, we almost met up with Kepa and Terry (hawaiimusicians.com) for lunch, but the timing did not work out. Kepa's pretty busy this week and once our guests start arriving tomorrow, I'll have no time. Anyway, next time we'll aim for some kanikapila.

Quick slack key trivia:

Q: What feature film starring Tim Allen mentions slack key artist George Kahumoku, Jr.?

A: "Joe Somebody"

Saw it on the plane. Pretty funny.

Aloha,
Andy

Aloha Everyone!

We had a Maui, Hawaii Style "Kiho'alu Session" with Reid and Sarah! As soon as I got off work yesterday, I went up to the "Bailey House Museum" to meet them. It's been several years since I last had a "Maui Kiho'alu Jam Session with Sarah and Reid. I mean, a really long time!

Every Tuesday's and Thursday's we'd get together and just "Kiho'alu under the Gazebo at "Bailey House". Reid and Sarah would make their long distance trip from the Mainland U.S.A. to Maui Hawaii! And joined us during the "Kiho'alu Jam Sessions".

At one time, we must've had at least close to about 15 Slack Key Guitar Players from all over Maui 'JUS PRESS"N away! Anyways, we had alot of fun doing what we love so much....."Kiho'alu". Today, we'll be getting together again. Wished you all could join us! Aloha! A Hui Hou! Malama Pono....

Aloha kakou from Maui,

Bill was right - Sarah and I had TONS of fun playing with Bill and Uncle Sol after Uncle closed up the museum at 4:00 yesterday. Uncle had his song book and led us through lots of songs (most of which we didn't know ahead of time). Sarah and Bill kept up their ends really well and I tried not to hit tooo many clams accompanying them. Bill brought his wonderful heirloom 1947 rosewood Martin 00 that he inhereited from his father's father. He made it sound so sweet. It was really good to meet again after a few years. After Sarah replaces a popped G string (tuning back to taro Patch from Double Slack) we will do it some more. Great time and great sounds.

Aloha for now,

Reid and Sarah

Aloha from Maui!

Well, today was the greatest Kiho'alu session yet! Not only did myself, Sarah, Reid and Uncle Sol have alot of fun, we also had a chance to (as we say on HawaiiMusicians.com) chance to "kanikajammapila" with non other than Admin! I was so surprised but also Happy at the same time when him and Wife Lynnette (spelling) show-up at the "Bailey House Museum" just as I was talking about them!

And like having a wish come true, having them with us was such a wonderful thing to have happen! He is one really terrific "Slack Key Guitarists, and his Wife is such a sweetheart! well, tomorrow they'll be heading to the Island of Lana'i Hawaii. And some time nextweek they'll be going back to New Jersey. Then Saturday Sarah and Reid will be headed back to Conetticut.

Man...I'm already begining to miss the four of them, and hope that in the near future we'll be able to do it again....."KANIKAJAMMAPILA" Maui Style! Well, the time now is 12:48 in the morning, and I have better go to bed. I have but 4 hours to sleep before waking up at 4:00 in the morning to go to work. A Hui Hou!
