Aloha kakou,
Although I'm still attempting to master singing while playing, my other concern is what to do about da faces I'm making while playing. I used to think that was some kine stage thing that da rock guitarists would do, but I'm starting to wonder. Y'know how sometimes you get lost in da music when you're playing, I mean like really playing, lost-in-the-ozone kine playing? And den suddenly you notice that your face is contorting like one drunk computer programmer on a dance floor! Whoa! Where did dat come from?!? Am I so totally lost in da music that I've lost basic control over my own face? What's next? Loss of bladder control? Am I turning into Joe Cocker?
And who's to say dis is gonna be limited to my guitar playing? Am I gonna start making faces like dis when I'm surfing? Running? Cooking? Ohmygosh - what if I'm already making them and nevah wen notice?!?!?!
IS ANYONE ELSE WORRIED ABOUT THIS???????
Next week: Is Chrispy drinking too much coffee?
Aloha a hui hou, Chris P.

Braddah Chrispy!
Eh! Nothing wrong with that! I know the feeling....When I'm at work in our break-room, and 'JUS PRESS'N, and everything that comes out comes so righteous, and I got everyones attention, my body head, my foot is in beat, and I have big smile from ear to ear.....Brah....that's what you call feeling the music and just going with it! A Hui Hou!

Yes Bruddah Chrispy, I am ....let's say...concerned by this....not really worried because sometimes....cannot help! I make the weirdest faces when I play....I can feel them...scrunching my brow or rolling my eyeballs! I must find my poker / stealth face to use when I play so I don't look so lolo. It has gotten a little bit better over the years. My friend told me my eyeballs used to roll back in my head and she could tell because my eyes weren't closed all the way so I just looked like the blind creature from some distant planet. The worst thing I do is tip my hand by making a face if I make the slightest 'mistake'. I am finding that the 'mistakes' are not really noticeable and I just keep going....nobody's perfect. The furrowed brow, the pursed lips, the mark of concentration. The lifted eyebrows, the smile, marks of joy. One song like a whole life. No worries......but no drooling! So what if when the bass player does it from both sides of his mouth you know the stage is level. I don't want that much information!!!!
