George will do well in that position. He has a lot of knowledge and is a wonderful mentor. But which of his kabillion other projects and commitments is he going to slack off on to do this? He's one busy man.

Aloha e Jesse,
It doesnʻt work that way with George. I had thought things might have eased up a bit for him when he stopped teaching at Lahaina Luna, but that kine void is irresistable to George. He filled it many times over. People marvel at all the work he does putting on the Slack Key Workshops, but how many notice that in between organizing, cooking, teaching and performing that he also has a dozen barrels of mulch in his truck this day, another load the next and the next. He also cares for his farm, constantly, in Kahudaloa, and his Leilani house. He has satelite gardens all over this island (Big Island, too). He raises pig and cows where he can and goats and sheep at home (along with Nancyʻs horses). Besides teaching at UH, he is also taking several classes there to keep up with the computer age. He does his two shows and countless others every week, and travels a lot. His meditation is weeding. When he dozed off during a set at the show a few weeks ago (still playing, of course), a visiting young friends observed, "Oh yeah- it was a good moon and George spent the whole night weeding". He is always working on recordings. And if anyone needs help on this island, George is there. I donʻt even know all the other stuffs he does. I donʻt think it really was a steam engine, "Hana Keoki" is George Kahumoku, Jr..
