I don't know why this hasn't gotten wider press but if you want to play Hawaiian music as a profession you need to see this. If you are a teacher and have aspiring professional Hawaiian musicians, they need to see this. Auditions are in a week! Do not wait. http://www.maui.hawaii.edu/ihm/

no problem. I'm sure that I (a Ha`ole guy in his 60s from San Diego) would have just as good a shot as anyone. At least that's what I'm telling myself. After all, I've got the time and the desire and I can play a little. What else is needed? |

Chunk, play a *little*? Say what?
But, just what we were thinking about Sarah, after we read the courses, which Sarah could ace, or option out, since she already knew more than would be taught, and the audition which she would also ace (with originals). And we know most of the faculty, as do you. No offense kanaka maoli, but Sarah can handle. As can Chunk. Andy and Claudia could, too. And Jesse Tinsley and...a whole raft of people we know. (Taking their names in vain.)
Chunk, the only strike against you, if I were a judge, would be your total commitment to those narrow necked Taylors. Also, your total commitment to Kaua`i. Could you live and love 2 years on Maui? With George all over you? This is George's thing.
But, it is a fine public works project for one of the 2 viable industries on the Islands; entertainment. The other being construction/real estate. I am totally for it.
OK, another trouble maker is outa here. Whooooooosh...
