Well, Front Range and good part of the state woke up to aoverdue, and much needed Spring snow. About 8" here just west of Denver...and darn cold! But thawing out...hitting 60's later in week!
Once we shovelled out, and got our chile, well it's good slack key weather--inside!
I used to idealize the Colorado old timer's--imaging myself in a cabin and practicing all winter, till spring melt out...emerging to beat the devil in a fiddle contest in spring!
Like the old myths about the devil and the fiddle and battles for the soul. Dealing with the obviously evil nature of the fiddle, (hey, if they're dancing, no telling what follows).... So Charlie Daniels only took old stories, myths, and tales, then re-spun them into a hit. Darn, wish I'd recorded it, then my 30 room cabin would be on the beach in Maui with Dr. Wayne Dyer. Well, I'll believe it when I see (and hear) it! But to have been to several of George's camps in Napili--well that's wealth you can't measure. Great to have the moisture, still praying for more of these common March snows, but thanks...perhaps a nice part of "God's will".
Guess I'll brush the flakes off the jacket, and get to work on Ozzie's "Ka 'ahele Ki Ho' alu".

I am/was just west of Denvoid, and the ice that clung to the bottom of my car for dayz wasn't at all helpful.
Somehow I have missed your kiho`alu......so close yet! Heaven knows this far inland could use a good dose of the Aloha spirit!

If "Bobbolink" is still out there, I just sent an email. since the snow is almost gone, if you avoid the mountains, maybe time for some "Rocky Mountain slack key"? We actually have spring RAIN shower's now, and the garden's coming along, (Muscles are really hurtin', but it's in) if the snow or hail don't come stompin'.
And sometimes after 6 months of pulling, digging, planting, weeding and mowing it's nice to get the reprieve that the winter provides...But please, not till Next Fall.
At that time, I can retreat, and grab some "Kale Chips" and go back to da' couch for "Dream Slack Key" by the fire.
But for now, it's the hammock in the evening. Ah, Rocky Mountain High... and I don't even need a dispensary to get there. FAR OUT! |
