Aloha Kakou Apau,
It's been a while since I last posted and wanted to send out my aloha to the TP 'Ohana.
Since my trip to VA and to Washington D.C in March 2013 to donate one of my guitars used during my tenure with the Sons Of Hawai'i to the Smithsonian Museum of American History, I've finally found some free time to catch up what's been happening in my life before getting busy in the next few weeks.
Life has been good and busy these last few years and my wife Robin and I are enjoying the quality time with new our legally hanai'd granddaughter Ariana, my new daughter. Parenthood has taken up more of the free time these days. She keeps me on my toes for sure.
I will be in the studio sometime before the year ends to do a solo slack key CD. A sequel to the Greatest Hits Vol. 1.
I have decided to spend time off the road this year, however in 2014 the concert road tours will commence again.
I've been involved with 3 projects up for the Hokus this year. Win or lose it's been gratifying.
Did two film projects, one with PBS Hawai'i and the other with The Hawaiian Legends Tour. Waiting for word on a third film project about Kalaupapa.
I will be teaching at George Kahumoku's Slack Key Camp June 16-23 in Napili for the whole week. Looking forward to that. August 1 -3 at the Lana'i Slack Key Festival at Ko'ele Lodge. Later in November at Keoki Kahumoku's Pahala Slack Key Camp November 2 - 12 and the Kahilu Theater Ukulele/Guitar Workshops in Kamuela, Hawai'i Island in November 14 - 16. Actually will be playing at all the Slack Key Festivals produced by Milton Lau this year - June 23rd Maui, August 18th Oahu, September 1 Kona, October 20th Ewa , November 16th Kaua'i.
Just dropping a line before getting back to the babysitting chores.
Aloha Ke Akua (GOD IS LOVE), Rev. Dennis Kamakahi

Great news about Greatest Hits Vol. 2, cause Greatest Hits Vol. 1. is one of my all time favorite CDs.

We'll miss seeing you more often, Uncle D, but our loss is your family's gain. Love to Aunty R & hope to see you both back in Seattle soon. |
