I'm at the final Joliet Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association convention. It's been wonderful! There are more good steelers around than in previous years. I played on Wednesday, and I've been jamming every night. We haven't decided where to move the Mainland convention yet, so stay tuned. It was a real treat to sit and watch Lion Kobayashi and Alan Akaka try to outdo each other Tuesday evening from 9 to 12. Back to Seattle tomorrow.
