The TaroPatch is still a great reference site. It will stay alive if veteran posters continue with their input. Ric

and my two bits...I still like to drop in here.
It's great advice, friends, and help when you need it.
And it has the highest integrity...
I do facebook on and off, mainly because many friends do.
but have lost many a morning there, and not sure what I accomplished.
Here, I usually learn something!
Andy helped post the George Harrison letter I quoted recently from the storefront window in Kona.
Here there's just LOTS of such attention, and usually kind responses from most of our "Ohana".
Thanks Andy and all. It's still my favorite place to drop in and see what's being discussed and chat.
A big SHAKA to all.

I never left Taropatch. Net. Through all the dramas I was involved with here I visit here at least once daily. I'm one of those that spend too much time every day on Face Book because there is much more activity. I can interact & socialize more frequently there than here.

That being said, this site is still a very valuable resource for me. There are a few slack key themed group pages I belong to on FB but the discussions are no where near as in depth as those on Taropatch.Net. I also have to admit that the FB members of the slack key pages aren't as knowledgeable as those who patronize this site. The general members of FB as a whole do not appreciate ki ho'alu like here.

I'll always be thankful to Andy Wang for this website. Besides the sharing of ki ho'alu manao, I'm also grateful for all the people I've met because of this site. Many are now lifelong friends. Mahalo nui loa Andy.

Here's a partial list of some of the friends I made here:

Hanging out here has been fruitful. Mahalo for the enrichment of my life because of this website, Andy.

Great sentiment, Duke! I still visit. It can be challenging to find people that want to look deeper into a music style / culture. When you find them, it's great! We all bring something (along with our inherent ignorance, but being a "blank page" means we start fresh). Humans drag drama with them, born of ignorance, incompetence, and selfishness. Our job is to diminish these in our lives by practice, just like playing music! Jus' press!

Thumbstruck, we met once at the Bishop Kanipila...TP is ALWAYS relevant...I'm not a big fan of tech stuff...I do not own a computer, or an Iphone thingy. I pretty much access this site from the local library, or from work. Other sources come & go, this one will remain until Andy says pau, and that's not going to happen.

slkho, I remember meeting you. Good you still get here. FB is fun, at times, but not as "friendly" as da 'patch.

Forgot to list you above Rik. I remember meeting you at the 1st Bishop Museum Kanikapila we staged. I think we were talking story with Ozzie Kotani at the time. Dunno if you got Oz to sign your guitar that time 'cause you probably already had his autograph on it. But you gave me the honor of signing your guitar. Like I told you then "I don't belong among all those Hawaiian music icons" That was a pretty epic kanikapila. Moke Boy Kamealoha & his dad were there. Po'oma'ikai Lyman was there with her kids who sang a couple. Auntie Lei Aken, Ramon Camarillo & Jesse Gregorio played a couple. Mento Mele Apana was the emcee. TPers Kory Tideman (Thumbstruck) Jack Aldrich (slpry1)Tom (Kihoaluatl...I think)plus the Abrigo Ohana & the regular kanikapila gang. Great memories.

Duke! Thanks for mentioning me -- I remember the day we sat by the pool and played "He Punahele" and you tried to teach me Ozzie's G6 tuning songs.
