I was scraping a thick sheet of ice the other morning, off our 2nd car (because there was no room in the Inn (Garage), and got to thinking..."Hey, didn't I use to have a hobby that transcends the snow bank where we might be temporarily standing? Oh, yea...I used to play slack key--for R and R! Music therapy. It's just as good in winter, if you're inside and cozy.
Well so it's mid-January in Colorado. And while there's some welcome, sunny, low 50's days that break the cold spells and melt the ice in my gravel driveway (and my heart)...some mornings are just a might chili.
It's time to renew those vows! So for better or worse, I take thee, Goodall guitar, to have and to hold, and practice, practice, practice. And once I start, I can't stop-- mostly because the cat takes over the guitar case! (She thinks I'm the good, maybe the best!) And I know the cat's hearing is good--she can hear a mouse at 100 yards. Myself? I can't hear my wife at 5 ft.--sorta That's good for improvisation--during my answers. Which can be interesting.
Old Paniolo #1: "It sure is windy" Old Paniolo #2: "I thought it was Thursday", Old Paniolo #1: "Yea, I'm thirsty too, let's go get a drink!"

Rain, frost, flu, - all reasons to play guitar. The troubled areas of the world are not particularly noted for their guitar playing or even the use of digital tuners. A possible doctoral thesis may lie therein. |
