Aloha, y'all -
I'll be teaching & performing at the Winter Festival of Acoustic Music in beautiful downtown Irving, Texas (in between Dallas & Fort Worth) February 11 & 12, 2005.

Workshops in slack key, fingerstyle `ukulele & Appalachian dulcimer.
It's a sweet little festival, so c'mon by. I recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches at the Irving drug store counter.
cheers,
Mark

Mark: Is there a skill level for your slack key class? Glad to see you are coming to Texas. |

Hi -
It'll be pretty much of an intro class, simply because that's what the organizers wanted. When I do this kind of class, I bring a fair amount of stuff to work on and take the pulse of the class & go from there.
What I'm really about is getting everybody, regardless of skill level, up to speed with finding the "feel" for the music. If you are experienced, I'll work with improvistation and grabbing licks out of thin air. If a newbie, you'll be learning simple chords and licks that work with the harder stuff.
So expect to cover Taro Patch tuning, turnarounds, basic picking patterns, sixths up the neck, chords....
The one thing I ask is that everyone tries to participate.
cheers,
