Aloha All,
First - before I go on and on like I do - I forgot - ugh - as usual to recognize someone special at our last Kani
Mahalo Aunty Pua Kai for coming all the way from HI #II the big big Isl(aka Kalifo(r)nia) to visit and play with us - I enjoyed you plenty nui. Talking story with you afterwards was really nice too (really nice lady too). I hope to visit you sometime on one of my biz trips that way sometime soon.
Geezzzzzz - I hate when I do that. My brain is getting lolo.
Yesssssss! so is the Saturday after TG Kani happening - Aunty Neej? if not, my house will work too.
That band name sounds nice too, but unfortunately we don't always sound beautiful.....
I still like the Podagee Soup Jam Band best,(we play for beans), I esp. love the tag line.
Howewa - we can talk on it and maybe vote later on.
Aloha,
Hili.

methinks 'twould actually be Kani Nani. I kinda like "Da Kanicapillars" meself---maybe we could make teeshirts wid 'pillars holding lotsa instruments in their multiple feets <G>
And yup, we be havin' one kani on Saturday da 25th---if folks wanna start earlier again, just to get in more jammin', fine wid me (just let me know, huh? ) |

Sadly, I'll be in LA, but, not so sadly, I'll be playing with my grandkids. Thanks, Hili, for retrieving my cell phone. I was having way too much fun. |

Aloha All!! I had a wonderful time over at Jean's w/ those who stayed to welcome me out of the rain and cold after a miserable 3 hour border crossing. The music was beautiful and it's so nice to meet such nice folks. Just remember to give a shout when in SoCal - like LA... or Pismo Beach. After getting together with the folks up by Julie, I do believe that ki ho'alu will remain alive and well, and probably expand in the decades ahead. It's way too much fun, and too beautiful to let go. Mahalo nui loa, nancy |

I'm liking "nanikani" or "kaninani" . . . "nice sound" or "sound nice" . . . either way it works for what we're all about.
Don
PS: The fact remains that we'd always work for beans, right? (or beer, or kalua pig, or chicken long rice, or . . .) |

If you like the sentiment of Kani nani, you might consider "Mele Maika'i" or "Mele Onaona". JT |
