Mahalo, Jean, for facilitating yet another delightful afternoon/evening (the "turkey weekend session") . . . it's always great playing (& eating, drinking & yakking) with such talented, fun & nice people!
And thanks, Jesse for the lu`au CD's. Joy & I listened to them on the drive home and it made her want to eat again . . .
Don
PS: Also . . . mahalo, Nancy, for posting your photos! |

It was a great time at Jean's house Saturday. Thanks to her and to all who shared songs. Thanks to Kory and Kimo for the slack key. Thanks to Dr. Cookie for teaching us some new songs and bringing copies for all of us. That was very nice. Thanks again. Jesse Tinsley

Though it was eight hours of white knuckle driving, my family made it home to Idaho. I'll see if we have any good recordings from Saturday's session. I left a microphone at Jean's, but that's par for the course with me. Jesse Tinsley |

Glad to hear that---I hate driving in snow, and don't do it well

I've some not-so-good one of some of the songs (or parts thereof <G>) if anybody wants 'em

Now, do I hold it for ransom (for a return visit) or be nice & send it back? Decisions, decisions... |

Ransom. No question about it. ANYTHING we can do to get Jesse out this way for even a few, short hours of exposure (photo joke, hyuk-hyuk) to his talent, charm and enthusiasm. |

Jean, The mic I left is a monaural shotgun mic that might work well with your iRiver. It cuts out a lot of room noise with its narrow focus. Give it a shot. It's got a two-position power switch for low and high sensitivity.
Seattle slackers: Gregg, Lori, Don, Hilinai, Glenn, Eric and Jean
Thanks everyone! Jesse Tinsley |

This photo makes me think more "ukulele choir" as opposed to slack key players . . . oh, wait, that's right, you used that funny term of endearment, "slacker," didn't ya?! Guess it fits after all . . . although Gregg looks pretty alert for a bass player, don't you think?

Aloha all,
Sorry for the very late response - I was on an airplane yesterday and am now in Manila for a whole day. Its a long way here and jet lag is taking its toll. Just now trying to catch up with my real life.
Mahalo Jean for the great time as usual and Jesse for coming down to Seattle to play with us - it is always a pleasure to see you. And btw, I thought the cd of the Luau was a blast! Some really good - unreal moments of musical magic for sure. At some points we sound like real players. It is really fun stuff Hope to see you again real soon. also fyi, Jeni listened with me and her comment was "when are we having another luau? soon I hope."
Aloha, Aloha, Aloha to all for the great time and memories.....

I, too am on the road, in Melbourne, Florida for a couple of days. I missed the big snow - I turned on the TV at my daughter's house for the Seahawks game and - WHAT A SURPRISE!!!! I instantly regretted taking the Eclipse to the airport. I found out when I hit work that I had to support a meeting here. The picture of the ukulele squad is pretty amazing. I wish I could have been there. I'll be home Friday, hopefully for a while. Have a great trip, Hili! |

Reminder time again---Saturday the 9th, back to the usual time (unless great cries to the contrary---& suitable bribes---arise).
Also fair warning: the 4th Saturday of the month will fall on the 5th Saturday The 23rd is too unpopular, so we do day 30 instead. |
