Jean, thanks for hosting the kani again. Glenn, your Jeanne's embroidery work is sensational! I'll get the word out to the gang. I expect there will be a bunch of orders for the Lei Mele shirts.

I hadda concert that day, sorry. Gonna miss Oct. 13, too - KBCS fundraiser, Momi's parents in town, Jake Shimabukuro in Edmonds - busy day. Hoping to come Oct. 27.

Still thinking about Nov. 3 for a handful of folks coming to the radio show? If not ready then, maybe Dec. 1?

I am interested in joining in on the kanikapila here in Seattle. Never been part of one but want to learn more. Right now I have no ukulele but have a classical guitar to play along (slack key ok?). Should have a uke in a few months.

I live in Ballard but work out in Fall City. I would love to even host a kanikapila one time or maybe an event as I manage a treehouse hotel and the treehouses, forest, and even outdoor stage are really a great place to play!

Please let me know if it is possible and if so how to join in!

Mahalo...-Dayn

I love Hawaiian music and Treehouses!

Regretfully, last week we had to be in Tacoma on unpleasant business and just had no time to check out the kanikapilas, but we did get a chance to briefly and informally play with Dr. Cookie at the L&L in Lakewood. It was great fun. Next time I hope to schedule our Tacoma trip around your Bellevue kanikapila time. I hate missing out on fun stuff, being the party gal that I am!!!

Jean, thanks for hosting again. Thanks Noeau for trying out my uke. We have 11 orders for the Lei Mele shirts. I believe Jeanne (Glenn's Jeanne) has material for 12. The logo looks great, especially think the silver threads for strings look really neat. Great job Jean (for designing the logo) and Jeanne for execution.

Hi kanikapilers! You may have heard that Kalae's back in the area for a week . . . how do you all feel about dedicating a couple hours of our 10/27 session to another Hawaiian Song/'Ukulele workshop with him?

Scheduling is both tight and last-minute on this trip, but he'd love to continue working with us. I realize the kanikapila sessions aren't necessarily the same people that would come to a separate special session . . . but there's a lot of overlap, right? He could possibly do this Monday night as a separate workshop, but at the moment Saturday seems the easiest to arrange.

Please let me know ASAP so I can get back to him and get on his schedule!

It's all arranged:

Regular kani-session starts at 3 pm (Sat 10/27) at Jean's . . . then our Hawaiian Song workshop with Kalae Miles starts at 6 pm . . . with kanika-potluck inbetween. What more could we want?

Should be great fun . . . see you there!
