Aloha -
This message is for our Aloha Music Camp `ohana.
Teri Waros, the GM at the Lodge and Beach Village at the Moloka`i Ranch, wanted to share some good news:
"Anakala was awarded the HTA's Kahili Award for his continuous and generous contribution of aloha to the Hawaiian community, our broader community as well as to our visitors. His efforts in every way perpetuate Hawaiiana and I know no one who "Lives Aloha" more than Anakala. Needless to say, it was a very exciting day for us and I am so very happy for him!"
Here's a link to the story in the Maui News: http://www.mauinews.com/story.aspx?id=11023
Congrats, Uncle!
cheers,
Mark

Aloha E Mark,
Mahalo for the article. Anakala Pilipo is an amazing resource of Hawaiian culture and history.
Thought I'd add a picture of Anakala at the entrance of Halawa Valley. What a great day that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn't it, though? For the record, my toe has almost healed. Still need to ice it from time to time, tho' I generaly do so internally, by way of a martini.
Anakala will be teaching at the Aloha Camp this February, as well as next June.
cheers,

Thanks for the messages/photo in this thread. It's nice to re-visit those beautiful memories, even tho I didn't go on the Halawa Valley trek. I think AMC needs to permanently take over Kaupoa and we can all just go and live there full time. As long as we have easy access to ice for our toes and our martinis.
me ke aloha
