Just to let you know that teachers have been selected for George's Sixth Annual Maui Slack Key Workshop. We plan to also offer Ukulele at the beginning of the week (June 16, 17) a trip to the beautiful valley of Kahakuloa on June 18, and the regular June 19-June 22 Guitar intensive with Slack Key instructors Ozzie Kotani, Cyril Pahinui, George & Keoki Kahumoku, Dennis Kamakahi, and Carlos Andrade confirming with us. Danny Palakiko will be teaching language related topics & kane (male) hula this year. Also Kanani Enos will teach wahini (female) hula all week. Maile Andrade will offer lauhala weaving.

As in the past, students will get to play on stage with George & Keoki at the Maui Slack Key Festival at the MACC. Formal classes will be located closer to the Mauian than last year to shorten driving time & maximize practice time. And, as always, the Kahumoku Experience includes GREAT HAWAIIAN FOOD!

We have not set the price just yet (fee is always reduced for spouse/companion non-guitar players & children to encourage a family-style atmosphere) and we are still developing the schedule.

We recommend getting on the Workshop Reservation List right now by contacting me at nancy @ kahumoku.com and reserving hotel space at the Mauian web site: http://www.mauian.com/ email info @ mauian.com if you have any intention of attending. (hotel & workshop fees are separate) We won't be asking for workshop deposits until after we have set the price in 2003. The Mauian requests a $100 deposit refundable up to 14 days before check in. Be sure and tell them you are with the Kahumoku Workshop & request the special rate.
