I thought we were talking about grammar - broken and non? Someone in Daboonies must have s*x on his mind. Probably been on the computer too much.
BUT...on that topic, thanks to Momi for sharing a great quote with me recently, though I forget the original source: "It isn't that my mind is in the gutter --- it's that the gutter is in my mind." |

Was one Samoan `ohana on HGTV today getting one yard makeover and also exterior of their Kaleponi hale. One big family, lots of keiki. And when all the yard makeover was pau, they christened the deck with a lu`au. The papa was playing `ukulele while the keikimahine danced to "Ka Uluwehi o ke Kai". Was good. |

O, my goodnes, my goodness, my goodness...Bradduh Sunrisng-in-my-maka-by-the-guavatree-on-da-Aina-ova-Haina! I wen climb dat cliff-face fo spaak da wahines. And, try poke (try, anyway) fish dat syd but all us guys could get wuz he'e and namako (nevah know how fo feex em, tho). BUT! On dat hill, you get the small guava! So....no madd'a wat da kine 'natural' and 'organic' kaukau you hana fo meaai, da abalone iz da winnah!
Also, Brah, memba had can pink-salmon with Maui onion, vinegar and sugar!?! And, da kine, foods da GI's wen introduce: can corned beef, can cracka, can spam, da sardines, ly-dat fo 'emergency beach kaukau'? An den, fo throw e'rytng 'organic' off kil'tah, top off with Kool Ade or Malolo punch or 'Greeeen River' soda.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh, we had good fun. And.... da poke wai! Memba? Da kine koppe in da bowl with saloon pilot kracka, budda, sugar, and Carnation cream? Or, jus wada, krakka, and sugar. WE WEN LEEVE, GARAN BALL BARAN!

Dees one good won wit kau yuke.....or plain. Get cucumba, skin em, half-em, and hemo da seeds. Tch'o em in the cast-iron, hot-oil, frying pan. Tch'o in sugar, kiko-shoyu...or go strait fo da 'pre-made' teruyaki shoyu. Eat em ly dat. Or...substitute cumba fo da taro wen you hana-steam Kau Yuke. Or...Tch'o in da small-kine dry shrimp.
Wen I learn fo kalua puaa, we hemo the puaa toenails. How? Poke one long-enough-so-you-no-get-burn concrete reinforcing-rod into da imu. Wen the rod stay redhot, place the red-end tween the toes and pry the toenails. Not easy because no mo leverage. Eventually, the toenails hemo. Make shuwa the rod stay redhot. When hana-pau da toenail-removal, den burn off the fuzz by 'scratchin' the hooves wit da redhot iron. Tie up da puaa da usual way with the feets up. When pau kalua, da 'jello' from the feets and da meat real ono from dea all da way up the ahu. Also, wen cleaning da puaa make suwa you bust-up da teeth and clean da jaw-bone wea da teeth stay wuz. Da first time yu do dees (hemo da teeth), you goin KNOW why you godah do dees EV'RY TIME.
Da kine feesh you stay talk bout, Menpachi, dat get cingua... Dasz da kine I poke in Kapoho, cept the Hinalea because too small. Minahs da cingua, I believe, coz I goin eat-til-I-ma'ke!!! BUT, no fei'ea I talk ly dat coz I not in Hawaii but hea wea no get feesh...cept Salmon! Get Lutefisk but stupid eat dat wen can eat Salmon????
I learn fo clean the naau with lime-leaves. Yup! Poke da guava/bamboo steek tru da loko for make-em inside-out. Den, rub the buggah with the lime-leaves (for the lime-oil 'detergent') and rock salt (for the scrubbing 'steel-wool'). Then cook em da way you like em. Me? I like em with the blood...specially pilipino style.
Bout time, we talkin natural foods. Ha! Ha! Herb

Eh, Herb - small kid time in W. Va., we used to almost have what you had with da kope & pilot crackers. We would have instead biscuits, nice and fluffy. Broke da mout fo breakfass. Break da buggah in half and butter wit nice fresh butter made in a churn (hahd work, get tyahd da arm). Put shuggah on top, den pour da kope, den put da cream from ontop da milk after you milk da cow and let da milk stand in fridge overnight. It raise to da top and is oh so good. Must be all dat buttah an cream why I get da heart trouble blocked up veins. Eh, nomo can eat dat. Why: Fat in da biscuits; too many sodium in da biscuits (salt and baking powdah); too many carbs in da flowah; too many carbs in da shuggah; too many fat in da buttah; too many fat in da cream; too many lactose in da cream. |

Well, I was really short-sighted today. I was very, very bad. I made two pies: one coconut cream, one banana cream pie. From scratch (well except for all-ready pie crust in a box) --- custard from scratch complete with whole milk and 3 eggs each. Then I made genuine real whipped cream to put on top.
And then I made for dinner linguine and shrimp with lemon, parsley and gaahlick.
Ono. I know I am going to pay, but sometimes ya just gotta buckaloose. |

My bebe dawdah in Seattle today through Sunday with High School Musical on Ice. She called home waxing poetic about Seattle. She really liked it. She went to some market she said ws humongous, I cannot remember the name (Pike's Peek or something lidat???) She said the town gave her good vibes unlike many other cities she has visited. I told her go find Momi & Retro; Thumbstruck, Slpry1, Neej, No`eau, Rich, etc., etc., etc. but she is too bashful. So far three cities she really liked: Nashville, San Antonio and Seattle. I told her to find da desert boonies ovah da mountains and she said too far away. So Braddah Ed, I guess she cannot hunt you down in the witless protection program. When she was in the Army, she was psychological operations, but I think they are the "spooks", so I think she could hunt you down....bwah-ha-ha. Nah, nah, nah. She'd rather go shopping in Seattle. Oh, I think she liked Portland, too. |
