================================ Some people say hair on your palms makes it easier to slide up and down the neck (of the guitar of course). But seriously folks, let's all give Duke a big "hand" for that great video.clap, clap , clap |

They also say it makes your hair fall out. Wait, did I say that out loud. Seriously though, that was pretty cool.

Wait, what were you guys talking about. I was just saying that singing with yourself on a TV makes your hair fall out, you know due to the static coming off of the set.

Dukie - this was awesome. You are doing a very good thing, teaching the younger folks to honor the traditional music.
Is this Hotdog's new main squeeze? (That's hep talk for boyfriend -- 'cause I am hep.) He's a cutie. |

Yes Wanda this is Hotdog's new boyfriend. He's a very nice young man and very respectful. He's another throwback with a musical taste beyond his years. The other day was his 2nd lesson but after he came for his 1st lesson a week ago,we played a bunch of C&K and Kalapana songs that he knew. That's music from the mid-70's and he's just 25 so the music is from before he was born.He told me he learned them from his uncles.I also showed him some better chords than he was using. He was stoked about that too.
Incidently he was inspired to learn ki ho'alu when he attended our White Plains Beach Kanikapila. He said he always love the sound of slack key and wanted to learn but didn't know anyone who would teach him.A new student is a great by-product of a kanikapila, ain't it? |
