I am asking for prayers for our dear friend and teacher (slack key, ukulele, cooking, singing) Keoki Kahumoku. It appears that Keoki is going through some very, very difficult times. His father George told me the best we can do for him is to send our prayers. Mahalo, everyone, for caring and praying for healing for our special friend.

I do not know how Keoki's classes were this year at the Maui Workshop since he taught Uke and I am strictly a guitar player. However, at the nightly kanikapila's he did an outstanding job of co-ordinating and played plenty of good pa'anis.

In addition, he gave freely of his time to help us out duing the day (during his break time) on several occaisions when we were trying to figure out how to play some songs.

Sending good thoughts his way...

My thoughts are with Keoki. He's a generous, talented performer and instructor and I was fortunate to sit in on a couple of his classes at Napili. In addition, he lead an excellent kanikapila. I am hoping for a speedy, full recovery.

Our hearts go out to the Kahamoku ohana. Keoki is one of the most generous person I've ever met. And what a sweet, unique vocalist. Big Hawaiian heart... We hope he has a speedy and full recovery...

Stay Tuned...

I met Keoki at a concert that was sold out. My friends came with me, they had tickets, but my friend's 84 year old father didn't have a ticket. Keoki walked him back to the "green room" and out to sit so he could see the show. Keoki said that it was for kupuna. Eh, Brah, plenny tanks.

Our thoughts and prayers for Keoki as well. We have yet to have the pleasure of actually meeting him (after-concert lines don't really count), but we loved his enthusiasm and sheer joy of making music. Hang in there, un-met friend!

Keoki is a man who is never still, works his you know what off no matter what he does -- music, farming, caring for the land. He wants to share, to teach, to malama. Someone who gives so selflessly as he does cannot help but gain blessings. All the best to you, Keoki.

Just adding my prayers and thought I can not imagine The Big Island with out Keoki He always seems to be around giving so generously of his time and music. He cares so much for others guess it is time for him to take a little of the caring back.
