From the July edition of Ka Wai Ola, OHA's monthly newsletter: I can think of quite a few who could win this contest. First and foremost there would be that CUTE Ocean Kaowili. ==========================================
Hawai'i's most beautiful man sought

All you good-looking braddahs: Local designers and pageant coordinators 2Couture (Eric Kamakahia'ai Chandler and Takeo Kobayashi) are looking for contestants for the 2009 Hawai'i's Most Beautiful Man contest, Sept. 12 at the Hawai'i Woman Expo at the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall in Honolulu. There will be three phases of competition: aloha wear, swimsuit and date wear. The winner will receive a cash prize, appear in a fashion magazine and be the most recognized hunk in the Islands. To watch a video of last year's contest, search YouTube for "Hawaii's Most Beautiful Man." Email 2couture @ lava.net or call 538-6690 for information or to put your name in the hat.

Damn nice of ya, Doug, thanks - only I don't live in Hawai`i, so someone else will have to go for the title.

(Whaaat? Jeez - MOMI would vote for me - and that's all that matters to me. Then again, her eyesight ain't the greatest...)

I have to add, Liko Puha to this contest. It takes a real man to wear antennas.

I saw the Powerpuff girls on TV when our keiki were little, but never saw no Powerpuff Kane before!

Konabob,

I might have to change my vote and agree with you.

Dusty,

Yup! Right in front of our shared Hale. Just before The Rainbow Room.

I knew you'd be the one to jump in here. Hope all is going well my friend.

Many years ago I was headed to a Halloween party dressed to the hilt as a werewolf in silks, but the road through Honokaa was blocked by a parade just starting. I noticed that no one had entered as "Most Beautiful- Male" so I grabbed the sign and gleefully terrorized young children along the parade route as I composed my very humorous acceptance speech. I was really quite horrific but I was sure that as the only contestant it was a sure win. Unfortunately the contest was fixed- the announcer awarded the prize to Eddy Ku, who was entertaining but had not participated in the parade, in a blantant attempt to hit on him, telling him how beautiful he was. Their loss, as I had really come up with some funny lines, playing on how "foxy" a werewolf was.

Moral: don't count on da boloheads winning; da contest is probably fixed...
