Just got word that Iwalani Kahalewai -- the Hawaiian Nightingale -- has passed away. She was part of the "golden years" of island music, having sung with Alfred Apaka, the Hawai`i Calls Orchestra, The Halekulani Girls, and so many more.

A lovely, lovely lady...she will be missed!

That is very sad news. I enjoy her music very much. Her version of "Blue Muu Muu" is so sweet to hear.

This is a great CD re issue of an album she did back in the late 50's. It's a wonderful album.
