 The acoustic duo Simple Souls is this week’s guest on Pakele Live! with Tony Solis. Due to the overwhelming response after their somewhat brief appearance in July (with Kuhio, Ka Hula O Ululani, and Aunty Diana Aki), we’re bringing them back for the full two-hour show!
The group is comprised of Jenn “JRoQ” Wright (MighTy J, PALI, Kanalo, She Rocks), and Zaysha Labrador (Kanalo, She Rocks), and has been performing together since July 2003. What was initially a dare to play aside from their established band, Kanalo (which was then a 4-piece band), turned into a new passion for “unplugged” music and a fresh acoustic sound. Both members bring a unique style and flavor to the group - Zaysha, with her powerhouse vocals, and Jenn, with her extensive talent in all things percussion (and who injects some fun into the mix!).
Join host Tony Solis for Pakele Live! this Thursday, August 13, from 6-8 p.m. HST in the Pakele Lounge at the Ala Moana Hotel (410 Atkinson Dr., Honolulu). It’s free, all ages are welcome, and free parking is available next door at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Drinks are available for purchase, although the hotel no longer serves food.
