since slack key and Hawaiian music is so nahenahe .... one of my presents tis a book on Honey... not sure I'll do the bee-keeper thing...but it's interesting.
While Tupelo Honey is on my list of things for Ground Hog's Day list, for instance, Tupelo Honey doesn't crystallize... But another high quality honey is Hawaii's Kiawe Honey, so need to try that too.
also it's interesting about the industry of raising and shipping the Queen Bees that most beekeepers use for their hives here...mostly from Hawaii--or also Australia (which appears to be a source of many Colony Collapse problems...) anybody a honey nut?

good pics, This year, I may have to take a tour of my Colorado bee-keeper friend's b...b.b.b.b...biz. Of course, he won't have Kiawe or Tupelo honey, But I've never met a honey I didn't like, except garlic/anchovie.
but some things would be the same...just different terroir, and c.c.c.c.c.cl... climate. I'll take the tour after it warms up...about May. B...b.b.b..b.b.brrr. B.B. b.b b.b.b.Buzz Light-beer with Honey |

I order that special white kiawe honey from the Big Island. It is an amazing thing, well worth the price. It is white because it is extracted at the particular time and without any heat to oxidize it. Yum. |
