As some of you may know, I have been sponsoring an after school 'ukulele club at the middle school where I teach in Union City, CA. One of the kids is the club is really good. Karsten is currently in the 8th grade and has been playing the 'ukulele about a year and a half. He is pretty much self taught. He comes in and plays after school and when he can't find someone to jam with he sits in front of the computer and lays down some chord progressions on Garage Band and then starts working out melodies and harmonies for songs.
