As I work on our taxes this year, I am so glad I have Hawaiian music to ease the dyspepsia.

You Tube – week of February 7, 2010

Auntie gets to start off her Monday morning with a wonderful video from Duke, Derek and Shawn singing “Pua Carnation”. My sweeties made this video for Auntie. Since I make the You Tube list for you guys, I get to put my sweeties first!!!!!! Prerogative. Plus they are SOOOOO GOOOOOD togeddah!!!! I am running out of superlatives so I going to try invent a coupo – like “4-box Kleenex kinda good” or “make my heart swell up kinda good”. Our friend, Mike Balles and his boys – Pua Hone . Mike & the guys have a unique sound, blending their Puerto Rican heritage with Hawaiian. Makes for good listening. Mike is one of my heart buddies (we both had our heart attacks about the same time). I’m glad he recovered well. He shares that big, big heart oh so well.

That's "Hila Hila Ole `Oe" -- first recorded, I think, by Mama Tina Kaapana on her vinyl "Alania" album. Led & I Kona included it on their "Nahenahe" CD, too.
