Saturday March 6, 2010: 10th Anniversary Celebration It was 10 years ago that the Museum of Making Music opened its doors to the public, starting its journey to celebrate the past, present and future of music making. To thank the many supporters, friends, members and visitors that have made this journey both possible and meaningful, we are offering a day of free admission and music-making activities...and free prize drawings, too! From 10 AM until 5 PM, Museum admission is free to all, and everyone is invited to enjoy the variety of musical festivities! Live Music in the Museum Galleries Throughout the day, the Museum exhibits are brought to life with live musical demonstrations. Come hear and learn about the mandolin, phonograph, saxophone, trumpet, guitar, and Chapman Stick. Then play the newest additions to the museum's Interactive Area—the "HAPI" drum, the "Harpsicle" and the "BEAMZ." Free Interactive Programs (approx. 30-40 minutes each): 10:30 AM: Community Drum Circle - We'l l provide the drums, you make the music. Start the day off with a bang and get in the groove. 12:00 PM: Ukulele Sing-Along - Experience the music and culture of this versatile instrument, then join in song. If you have your own uke, bring it along! 2:00 PM: Dulcimer Workshop - Explore the history and music of this uniquely American instrument, then play it yourself. 3:00 PM: Special Guided Museum Tour - Experience the history of music making with live instrument demonstrations
