Puna,
Well, we had a scheduled pau hana in NYC Thursday night that had to be postponed. It's been snowing for 2.5 days. Should stop soon but still coming down as I type. It's very pretty outside and not many cars out on the road. Yes, I am the fool driving (slowly) to and from work. I do plan to go home by 4:30 so that we can take the little one sledding. The answer is, "Yes, I wish I were in Hawaiʻi!" |

Eh, Andy! This should be prime indoor kanikapila weather. Watch the sledding, I broke a leg when I was 12. |

My prediction....one last humdinger of a storm will occur +/- 5 days of St. Patrick's Day. There is always a last "St. Patraick's Day" storm.
Then I predict spring will come. Funny thing. It happens every year and I CAN HARDLY STAND THE WAIT!!!!!! Nothing better than seeing green come back into a black & white world.
Our weather guy (Dick Goddard - been doing Cleveland weather since I was in about 5th or 6th grade) says that this snowy winter trend will continue for about another 3-4 years. It is some kind of a cycle with a fancy name.
Take pictures of your little girl sledding, Andy. These are precious moments that need to be documented. And then I can teach you how to do scrapbooking. There are ways to do digital scrapbooking, too. Looks almost like the real thing, but easier, just click and drag. |

I saw the weather report this AM for back east... I know the news always pictures the spectacular, but is it really bad there Andy? It's supposed to be close to 80 here at the beach the next few days...

You cannot just depend on the news reel. They want to show the worst.
This thread started because the East Coast had two back to back snow storm. The first storm missed me. The second drop 12 - 18 inches of snow. That's done now, but we're on our fourth consecutive day of rain. Saturday night was crazy with heavy rain and high winds. It didn't stop us from driving to NYC for a birthday party, but I began to wonder if we'd made the wrong choice while driving across the George Washington bridge. Whoa, I've never seen or felt wind like that from the inside of the car. Wearing a raincoast and carrying (wrestling) an umbrella for two blocks from the parking spot to our friend's apartment, and I was soaked. Good birthday celebration; and on Sunday, we drove an hour to attend a St. Patty's Day party.
Many people are without power, and there are many fallen tree branches in the streets. There is some local flooding. The rain is wrapping up today, though. The sun will be out soon and the forecast is to get into the 60s. Spring is just about here!!! |
