The not-to-be-missed 90th annual song contest will held this week -- Friday night @ 7:30pm (broadcast live island-wide on TV), it will be available live online, too:
http://www.ksbe.edu/2010/song-contest/

This year's Song Contest features favorite compositions and arrangements that have made lasting impressions in different generations over the course of the event's 90-year history; all in their own right are enduring classics of the time-honored "Kamehameha choral tradition." Now, nine decades later, some 1,800 young men and women gather before a live audience of more than 5,000 people while tens of thousands more tune in on statewide television and via the Internet.

Who won? I still have yet to find clips on youtube except for the sophomore men and women. I can't wait until all the footage is posted.

Speaking of youtube, I'll be putting up those two songs this morning, Wanda. Enjoy!

The senior class SWEPT the awards -- winning for their male chorus, female chorus, co-ed chorus, language, mele, and overall. The event's commentators were struggling to recall if this had ever happened before. Awesome show -- and the ho`ike, was spectacular.

I usually fall asleep before the end of the show (which is why I always set my DVR to record), but this year there was no way I could doze off and miss anything! The class of 2010 has set the bar high for future competitors!
