California peeps in the San Francisco/Oakland/Berkeley/greater Bay area! Learn ‘Ukulele Strumming and Rhythm – or 'Ukulele Arpeggios and Hawaiian Turn Arounds - with Herb Ohta, Jr.!
Where: Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse (2020 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA) When: Monday, April 19 Cost: $30 each ($50 for both workshops if you sign up simultaneously)
Arpeggios and Hawaiian Turn Arounds (8-9:30 pm) - have you always wondered how they do that? Herb Ohta, Jr., a seven-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award (Hawai’i’s Grammy®) nominee, two-time Hawai’i Music Award winner, and one of Hawai’i’s finest ‘ukulele virtuosos, will share the secrets behind arpeggios (picking patterns) and Hawaiian turnarounds in classes ideal for those who are looking for a more traditional Hawaiian sound.
Strumming and Rhythm Techniques (6-7:30pm) - In this workshop, Herb will focus on basic `ukulele strumming patterns and rhythms.
