I made a video of me playing `ukulele and singing Na Hala o Naue . You will notice that video is not on here. After about a half dozen false starts, I got almost done and screwed up the words and I listened to it and decided that its good that Paul is the musician in this family. I did play in public last Wednesday at the halau and the ladies actually danced to it, but I played a duet with Paul. It is easier to hide behind someone else. That's why when we go O`ahu in August, I will be able to play at the kanikapilas and hide behind the crowd!
But there are some good videos on You Tube, that I am sure you will enjoy.
Now the hula that I posted first up, please do not bark at me about blasphemy regarding hula. It follwed protocol and it told a story. And it was brought to my attention by a very fine dancer whose father is a kumu hula.
Enjoy: You Tube, week of 18 April 2010
