Thought folks might like to see the upcoming festival information for this summer. It's hard to find all of this in one place!
Maui: June 27th, 2PM-7PM. Maui Arts & Cultural Center
Big Island- Hilo side: July 10-11, 12-6PM. Afook Chenin Civic Auditorium. Big Island Hawaiian Music Festival (Sponsored by East Hawaii Cultural Center. For tix call (808) 935-9085; Workshops by Cyril Pahinui, Ozzie Kotani, and Brittni Paiva
Oahu: August 7 10AM-6PM. Waimanalo Beach Park. Third Annual Gabby Pahinui Waimanalo Kanikapila
Oahu: August 15 12PM-6PM. Kapiolani Park, Waikiki
Big Island- Kona side: September 5th 12-5PM. Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Convention Center
Kauai: Nov 14th 12PM-5PM. Kauai Beach Resort and Spa Convention Center
I'm sure there's more but this is what I could find for now. In another case of bad timing, I will miss both the Gabby Pahinui Kanikapila and the Oahu Slack Key Festival this year. However, I do plan on going to the Hilo festival and the Kauai festival this year so if you are too, drop me a note--I'd love to meet you and play some nahenahe with you.
