Aloha Kakou, It's my honor and pleasure to fill in for Auntie Wanda and do the Monday Morning Youtube Videos For The Week while she and Unko Paul are vacationing on O'ahu. I never realized how much work it is to do this, until now. We all owe Auntie a debt of gratitude for doing this every week. I apologize in advance if I post some video that she has already put up, but if that happens I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing them again anyway. So here goes!! Let's start out with a beautiful chant by Charles Ka'upu with some music by Hapa and some great hula. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM37d2HZWxw&feature=related As the title to this video says, this really is a marvelous hula. Led by Kumu Hula Sonny Ching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puelcyhsXQ0&feature=related Anelaikalani recorded her first self titled CD at the age of 12 way back in 2000. She just released her fourth called "E Mau No" this June. Check her out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EaWTQdm2RQ A couple of videos taken by yours truly. Aldon Sanders on 'ukulele and Stan Meidinger from Santa Cruz on bass were asked to entertain customers at a store here in Santa Cruz. The store was featuring the jewelry work of a artist from Kaua'i. So the store owner thought it would be great to have some Hawaiian Music for the shoppers. Wish all stores would do that!! You get a brief glimpse of the store owner herself serving Mai Tai to the patrons. Now that's customers service at it's finest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7I4xvJ8ae4 "Nani Waimea" By Aldon Sanders and Stan Meidinger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b41qQeRtbJc "Manuela Boy" By Aldon Sanders and Stan Meidinger Is this Quinn Abrigo's debut on 'ukulele and vocals? I think so. Stylin'!!! And what a great job!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6flMUFwSWB4&playnext=1&videos=9axSKnYVPyc&feature=sub Quinn Abrigo A series of three 'ukulele videos made by a woman named Natalie. The first one just singing "Dream a Little Dream of Me" ukulele so simple, so sweet. The next two I thought were very interesting, comparing two different sets of strings on the same uke. Can those of you with trained ears tell a difference and how would you describe that difference? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fadfz19PsMQ&feature=channel "Dream a Little Dream of Me" ukulele so simple, so sweet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fpkC4d7sbs&feature=channel Ukulele string comparison (part 1/2: Worth CT-LG) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMZujlV5ZD0&feature=channel Ukulele string comparison (part 2/2: Savarez) Wow!!
