Well, we have video proof that the Certo's are indeed on the Island of O'ahu. Unko Paul, how nervous were you knowing that Led was looking over your shoulder?

Two videos honoring Hawai'i's Paniolo and Parker Ranch. I had the honor of meeting Martin Ikua Purdy, son of the legendary Ikua Purdy. Father and son are both members of The Paniolo Hall Of Fame.

I have always liked the way Michigan native Ray Sowders sings and plays. He was a student of Ray Kane. Ray has been living, studying and performing in Hawai'i for many years. We were delighted to have been able to see Ray playing at Uncle's Fish Market at Pier 38, during our most recent trip to Hawai'i.

David Kamakahi with his father Dennis Kamakahi, Bobby Ingano, and Jeff Teves, do a great version of a song written by Alfred Alohikea, "Ka Ua Koku".

A little trip down memory lane, to a special era in the history of Hawaiian tourism.

The White Ships, by Canadian author Duncan O'Brien, is the first comprehensive history of the six classic white liners operated by Matson Navigation Company between California, Hawaii, the South Pacific, New Zealand and Australia from 1927 until 1978.

I thought that this was a fascinating video. I have a much greater appreciation into all the effort that goes into Lauhala Artistry after seeing this video. I found the prep work really interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C53QlHY43s8&feature=channel Aunty Elizabeth Lee teaches the art of lauhala weaving.

I have always enjoyed the music of Owana Salazar. I think she was the only female student to have been taught the Steel Guitar by The Great Jerry Byrd

A little hula in Germany. The love of Hawaiian Music and culture truly does find it's way to all areas of the world. "Aia I Ka Maui" is not a commonly danced hula. I think it's great to see it being performed in Germany.

Kanikapila at Aunty Georgia's Hale. Seems like such a good time in the old back yard.

Somebody said "Hana hou" so here it is. Another by Braddah Waltah. Great photos of fruit vendors around the world. I just love to sample exotic fruit whenever we travel.

Some great stuff by Rachael Akaka. I think she is Alan Akaka's niece. Beautiful voice and a beautiful original slack key guitar song - "Kawehionalani" on the second video.

Hiram Olsen is one of the very finest rhythm guitarists. He was a staple of Jerry Byrd's groups. In this short segment from a HSG Convention in Winchester, 1990, he and his son Casey are joined in a trio format with singer and bass player Kalani Fernandes. A class act as all three not only handle their instruments with fabulous technique and musicality, but form a tight bright singing trio as well.

I end this weeks youtube offering with a lovely "Aloha 'Oe" performed by Herb Ohta, Jr.

Mahalo, Norman! Led is a nice man. I kinda was proud of Paul (well, heck, actually you know I had tears running down my face. And my video camera wasn't working. I was so happy that Carmel took videos.
