Hey Terry Dayt.on(Clint is his middle name) lives in Honolulu. He has a regular gig in Pearl City somewhere. I was supposed to have accompanied a freind to go see him but never did so I never met him. Oz told me Dayton studied under him for awhile but Dayton's true kumu was Bobby Moderow of the band Maunalua........I totally agree that Dayton plays some really good slack key renditions. His other genre stuff are pretty cool too
Good for him. I just hope he features his ki ho'alu as much as the other stuff. Doubtful though because the other stuff his probably a lot more popular with the younger audience he appeals to. But hopefully he can be a Johnny Appleseed type with ki ho'alu and inspire a new generation of listeners and participants.
