Oddly enough where I grew up, 'Buke' (or bewk) was a perfectly normal way of pronouncing book. Similarly, 'cookery book' was 'cewkery bewk'. Doesn't that happen anywhere in America? I have to confess I haven't heard it.
I've noticed since studying the Hawaiian language I've caught myself speaking with the infections in my english sort of in that manner with certain vowels , especialy the u 'oo' and o 'oh' sounds. does this happen to everybody too? sorry this question being off topic.
i wish I could get a little extra cashe to buy soem of these books i want like this one :)
