I have been listening to a mele called Kuamo'o Slack Key on a Ray Kane cd. Since I purchased the mp3's and not the cd I have no liner notes.

Does anyone know the composer of this mele?

The notes on this video say Mike Lowe.

I have the CD with the liner notes, which are quoted below:

"This tune brings Michael Lowe to the forefront, and shows his reverence to Hawai'i's musical traditions. Based on a melody passed down for several generations, this song is named after the beloved uncle, Francis Kuamo'o who taught it to him. Michael dedicates this song to his memory---and also to his family"

Michael Lowe is currently with the group " 'Ike Pono ".

Thank you so much. It is a haunting melody, especially that way it is played on the album.
