Aunty Genoa was as sweet and gracious as anyone I have ever met. She was so kind to Paul and I. This clip is from our dear friend, Kawika. He sometimes discovers priceless pieces of history that he lovingly cares for so those memories can be preserved. Please check out his You Tube channel for some more very amazing pieces of Hawaiian music history.

Bau,

Thank you so much for sharing this. I played Maile Swing at a birthday lu'au last Saturday, and now realize that my tempo was completely wrong. I blame it on being very cold on the back deck in the California redwoods and hurrying the song along. Time to move to Hawai'i! I mean, it was 50 degrees out there... And I was in my muu'muu!

Julie

Cheers Julie,Wanda

-10?? egads! here it is going to be 11 tonight, that is too cold for me. I just planted hardy palms this summer , I guess I will find out how cold hardy they realy are, so far they survived 2 snow storms that completely buried them as well as a bunch of ice...

LOL, Wanda!

I knew I would get you with that one! Haha!

Not too worry, I'll be going to Lake Tahoe in a couple of weeks for skiing in really cold snow, piled up way high. Picture me taking a nose dive down the slope and coming up with that white stuff in my goggles, in my hat, in my jacket, in my pants. Then you can laugh at me...

If I were at Lake Tahoe, I'd be in a casino, sipping an umbrella drink thinking of summer time. Lake Tahoe is an amazingly beautiful part of the country. That lake is so CLEAN! And so deep. When it snows there, it REALLY snows. We measure in inches, they measure in FEET. Have fun, Julie.

And make sure you guys watch all the other of Kawika's videos. Go. Do it. Its your history lesson.
