Oh my oh my! There are SO many videos this week, I couldn't even list them all. Some kind soul named Jim took videos at the Southern California Slack Key Festival. Mahalo, Jim. Is that you JimC, who took the videos? Eh, Mitch, you guys must have had great fun! And there is a film about Hawai`i's Last Queen that surely needs watching. And all kinds of other treasures. This video is of the Nikkei Horizons Aloha Band and several friends entertaining at the annual Seattle Nisei Veterans Committee Senior Appreciation Luncheon on January 8, 2011. The six member band is comprised of retired seniors that started from ukulele classes offered by the Nikkei Horizons Continuing Education Program. The band plays Hawaiian songs, Japanese songs and American oldies and performs at community events, retirement communities and senior centers.
