Great list, great research. Thanks for all who've helped out with it.
For those who prefer a little more mobile means of listening, so far, I've had a little luck with iTunes. Found `A `Oia recorded by the Brothers Cazimero, there's a few other versions if you want to check them out, as well.
Thanks Fran. when I found out the Leward was using a droped C the digraned new chords for D. E.f G. C and started using then I keep thin in my case all the time. But the smooth sound of slack key is my love soothing abd so so beautiful thanks for the Utube bits fred mahalo
Hi Wanda, I am impressed! I have not dropped in here for a while and I really have to catch up a bit. The link for Puamana goes to Pua Tuberose intead. Here is the video with Irmgard and Emma. It doesn't get any more authentic than that.
Mahalo, Kawika. I appreciate corrections. And of course, the video I meant to put up for Puamana was your video of Emma Farden Sharpe and of Aunty Irmgard. Who better to learn from than the haku mele and the kumu hula? We are so lucky that you shared that precious video with us.
Ahi Wela --- Everyone knows Izʻs version or rather medley with "Twinkle twinkle" but found on you tube the complete song sung by Clyde Halemaʻumaʻu Sproat. On you tube it is titled "Ahi Wela/Clyde Halemaʻumaʻu Sproat" in case this link doesnʻt get you there.
I Will Remember You --- At most kanikapilas Iʻve attended whenever they try to sing this song they think it is "Iʻll Remember You". The song in He Mele Aloha is the tune sung by Bing Crosby. The you tube version does not include the introduction.
Auntie Wanda, I just had to tell you that I heard from my priest friend, and he is having a lot of fun with your compilation list! Things like this are really helping his recuperation, and I thank you so much for all your efforts with putting this together!
Holy Cow!!! I hope whenever you were done with this list, the guard finally came in and unlocked the shackles, fed you a good meal, and let you out in the exercise yard. haha. Great list, that's a lot of work. Great work Wan ~slkho
