I don't know if this was posted on Taropatch earlier, so apologies if this is a repeat.
The Bay Area has a rare opportunity to see the legendary Marlene Sai in concert along with multiple Hoku-award winner, singer/composer (and distinguished Taropatcher!) Kenneth Makuakane. The four AFFORDABLE shows are brought to us by Bruddah Patrick Landeza and LandezaPresents. You can conveniently purchase tickets online at LandezaPresents (only a $1.00 handling fee) and pick them up at the concert.
I'll be at tomorrow night's show at The Cue--hope to see some of you there. FYI, doors open at The Cue at least one hour prior to the show and you can purchase an ono dinner plate for $10.00 (heard they'll have a lau lau plate and a vegetarian one). To be honest, I can't believe Marlene Sai is actually coming to the Bay Area, with Ken Makuakane to boot! Mahalo Patrick!
I'm forwarding the following info from LandezaPresents' e-mail. Don't miss out on these great concerts!

Just got back from the concert at The Cue. Wow! What a privilege to see Marlene Sai live, especially in the Bay Area. It was an emotional journey: From nostalgic and romantic, to soulful and poignant, to kolohe and funny. She sang her classics, like “Kainoa,” told very interesting stories from her 52 years in the business (emphasizing that she started “very young”), and often danced hula while she sang. She was simply captivating and so entertaining.
Kenneth Makuakane provided beautiful guitar accompaniment, harmonies, and even electronic wizardry that dazzled Patrick Landeza. He also opened the show with a number of his popular originals, including a couple of my favorites, “Sway it Hula Girl” and “I Miss You My Hawaii.” A wonderful and prolific singer/songwriter and a funny storyteller, he even treated us to a few ‘ukulele numbers. I talked story with him a little bit after the concert, and he mentioned the last time he performed in the Bay Area was in the mid-‘90s.
Anyhow, they have three more concerts in Northern California and definitely see them if you can. Mahalo Patrick for bringing such legendary talent to our neck of the woods.
Aloha, Doug

I can't wait to see them when they come to Felton on April 3rd. Don Quixote's International Music Hall at 1:00 pm.
Here is an article about Marlene Sai and her visit to the Santa Cruz area.
