while I actually learned this from the Hawaiian Slack Key Masters, Vol. 2. and it was one of the first tunes I successfully tackled by ear and memory-- a great one for testing what you've learned, WITHOUT TAB (since Ozzie keeps begging us to break us away from that stupid tab addiction...)
But if you are interested, it's about the same level of skill as the tunes in Ozzie's book. And just to check your work out...or in case you're not ready and need some tab, Ozzie has posted a free download of the Sonny Chillingworth version of "Liloa's Mele". Thanks Ozzie.

Of course, to play along, tune taropatch, but down a step to "'F taropatch"! Here I go talking to myself again. Seattle, I'm babbling. |

Yes, Taropatch, but everything down one step. It is also what I call "F taropatch" where Dennis Kamakahi played Wahini Ilikea in F on the Hawaiian Slack Key masters cd...according to my 'cipherin'.
Mele Kalikimaka. And hey, we have just got a foot of snow+ here in Denver area--so if ya' need some Holiday Decor, well the is Snow free, but must pay Shipping and Handling--delivery by Dec. 25th extra. Or maybe go to the top of Mauna Kea. What does the sled land on in Hawaii? surf? Ho, Ho, Ho. |

I've almost got this piece down but I need to get the flow right. Want to keep it nahe-nahe.
Playing it on a classical guitar also creates some extra harmonic and chime effects when executing the slurs on the 7th-12th frets. Need to control those. |

Gosh I dont know what I would do without tabs. Guess it isnt a bad addiction is one is to choose their addictions. It isnt fattening or unhealthy. |
