I have been looking for sheet music or songbooks of classic 1970's Hawaiian music - Olomana, C & K, Country Comfort, Kalapana, etc... for a long time with little success. I have found some song lyrics & chords on the net but no real sheet music or songbooks. Does anyone on the forum know where I can get
some? Did they ever exist or did everyone just learn them by ear? Thanks for any info leading me to the music I want to learn to play. Aloha!

To my knowledge, there has been very little ever available. The guy who put out the Hapa book also had put out tablature/music for C&K and Country Comfort. See this Star Bulletin article: Finding the right note - A new book series prints music recorded by local groups
Unfortunately, Power Chord Music is no longer in business and the out-of-print books are very difficult to find. FYI, there was one taropatch member who contacted Keith Sakaguchi in search of a Hapa book while traveling to Honolulu. She reported back that, "Keith has none; doesn't know how to find any." |

For sheet music and songbooks for Hawaiian music, the #1 source is Harry's Music on O`ahu (Kaimuki). They'll take credit card orders by phone: 808-735-2866
If Harry's doesn't have it, _nobody_ does!

I called Harry's. They said there never were songbooks for these groups.
